We take walk-ins when there’s space in the cat room, but booking a visit online is easy, costs the same & guarantees you get time with the kitties.

Depends on your purreference!

Our kitties are free to roam, snooze, & play as they please!

The average cat sleeps 12-18 hours a day (lucky!) so we have lots of sleepy snuggle hours throughout the day! However, our kitties are most active at night & in the morning if you purrfer playtime!

Unpurrtunately, we do not accept cash. Thank you for understanding.

Seattle: There’s street parking around us and two lots behind us on Belmont Ave! We recommend coming at least 10min before your cat room time to find parking & get settled, especially on weekends!

Bellingham: There’s street parking all around us!

All our kitties come from Regional Animal Services of King County!

We don’t have any in-house volunteer oppurrtunities (our kitties are fully staffed!), but we always need folks to foster kitties at home.

We're always looking for fosters with all backgrounds of kitty experience who have the space and time to help socialize kitties. Cats searching for foster homes may have special needs, need some help getting socialized, or need a place to wait before joining the NEKO cat room! Ideal candidates have transportation, are obsessed with cats, and live around our Seattle and Bellingham locations. NEKO will provide fosters with cats, needed kitty supplies, and support!

Cat Room Visit: 45mins in the cat room!

Purrivate Party: 45mins in the cat room for just you and your fave people! 

Work/Study/Purr: [Bellingham Only] 2.75hrs of time to work, study, & snuggle the kitties!

Cat Yoga: [Bellingham Only] 45min of all-levels yoga class, 30min of kitty/beer time!

Bellingham: Yes! NEKO Bellingham is fully accessible.

Seattle: Unfortunately, NEKO Seattle’s entrance is not fully accessible. The outside sidewalk (owned by the City of Seattle) includes a large step down into our building. We deeply apologize & seriously hope the city addresses this issue soon. We’ve done significant renovations in our interior to ensure it’s as accessible as pawsible in the meantime. We deeply respect and understand the importance of service animals. However, due to the unique nature of our establishment, which is both a cafe and a cat adoption center, we are unable to allow service animals inside. The presence of service animals, even well-trained ones, can cause significant stress to our cats, many of whom come from sensitive or traumatic backgrounds. Ensuring the well-being of the cats is our top priority, and this policy helps maintain a calm and safe environment for them.

The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) generally requires businesses to allow service animals, but it also provides specific exemptions. In cases where a service animal’s presence would fundamentally alter the nature of the business or create legitimate health and safety concerns, businesses are permitted to restrict access. As a cat adoption center, we fall under this exemption due to the potential stress and harm that service animals could cause to the cats.

We are committed to accommodating our guests in other ways. While we cannot allow service animals inside, we are happy to prepare any of our offerings for takeout. This allows all customers to enjoy our products while respecting the needs of the cats in our care. We appreciate your understanding and support of our mission to provide a safe and nurturing environment for our feline residents.
