The Mysterious Black Cat

NEKO Pride, November 03 2017

BLACK CATS MAKE A GREAT SCARY STORY, BUT ARE THEY TRUE?

There is a huge stereotype surrounding black cats that they bring bad luck into your family. Rumor has it that this superstition began hundreds of years ago as people were paranoid about magic in general. Black cats were widely believed to be witches under transformation disguise.

On Halloween night, abuse against black cats heightens out of fear of folklore. Unfortunately, some people adopt black cats purely for decoration and then abandon them as soon as the holiday ends. Due to this, many shelters restrict black cats adoption as Halloween come closer.

Black cats are widely used as a symbolism to horror, suspense and as a magical companion to witches. But, did you know in the Japanese culture, they believe having a black cat will bring you good luck, wealth and prosperity? Amazing!

HOW CAN I CHANGE THE STIGMA OF BLACK CATS?

Adopt. Adopt. Adopt. They are no different than the other feline breeds, and many owners suggest their black cats are the best cats.
