CATS. COFFEE. SEATTLE. IT JUST MAKES SENSE.

NEKO Pride, March 07 2016

Cat lovers of the world have spoken and cat cafes are now scattered throughout the U.S. including New York, San Francisco, Denver, Washington D.C and now Seattle can join the list with NEKO Cat Cafe on the horizon.

The worldwide trend of cat cafes is sending a strong message. Cat lovers are everywhere and they want to pet some damn cats!

Who came up with this genius idea? The world's first cat cafe, Cat Flower Garden, opened in Taipei, Taiwan in 1998. What started as a way to unwind after a hectic day at work quickly turned into a huge tourist destination.

Nowadays Japan is the cat cafe mecca with dozens of establishments in Tokyo and beyond. With long working hours, small living spaces and an appetite for eclectic anything it is no surprise. While Japan is leading the way in terms of variety and volume of cat cafes; U.S. based cat cafes all have one big, exciting theme in common; ADOPTION! Adding some heart and soul to your coffee & cat experience makes this growing trend that much more awesome.

Since opening in 2014 Cat Town Cafe in Oakland has facilitated the adoption of 1,100 cats! We hope to follow suit at NEKO with adoption our number one goal.

Get ready Seattle. Your neighborhood watering hole is about to be home to adoptable cats. NEKO Cat Cafe is coming soon.
